What "more than just a vibe" means in practice

A good-looking site is table stakes. Here's the work underneath that makes one actually perform.

“More than just a vibe” is our way of saying a site has to do more than look good. Looking good is the easy part. Here’s what’s underneath.

Decisions you can defend

Every choice — layout, copy, color, the order of the sections — should trace back to a reason. Who is this for? What do we want them to do? A vibe is a feeling. A good site is a series of decisions you can explain.

Speed and accessibility are features

A beautiful page that loads slowly or excludes people isn’t beautiful, it’s broken. Performance and accessibility aren’t polish we add at the end; they’re constraints we design within from the start.

It has to hold up after launch

The real test is six months later: can someone update it, does it still load fast, does it still convert? Building for that day — not just launch day — is the difference between a vibe and the real thing.
